Pastor
Mike Sparrow was raised Roman Catholic, then began his new life as a
born again, Spirit filled Christian through Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa,
CA. in 1977. He has been on staff at Agapé Church since 1986 seeing
Agapé grow in size and influence in the community and overseas.
Initially serving as Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor, Mike was chosen
as Lead Pastor when Agape founder, Tim Morbitzer, and his family moved
back to Indiana in 1994. He received a degree in Biblical Studies from
Calvary Christian International in 1996. He has been licensed and
ordained through the Association of Faith Churches and Ministries since
1986.
Pastor Mike has sought to bring the balance of ministry of the Spirit with teaching the Full Gospel message He has pursued a life-long call to missions, leading and participating in over 25 short-term trips to a 15 + countries. Agape has continued apostolic work in Kenya and Cambodia. Locally, Pastor Mike has been involved with several ministerial fellowships, promoting unity and cooperation amongst Evangelical churches. He served on the Board of Directors of Family Care Network for 11 years.
Pastor Mike & Jan have been happily married since 1981. The Lord has blessed them with three grown children, Jeff, Alie and Joshua, who are all serving the Lord! Their daughter, Alie, is married to a great guy - Zach. Besides ministry, Mike and Jan enjoy camping, hiking, volleyball, golf, and an occasional scooter ride, They consider it a great privilege to serve God.
