Sometimes supernatural things need to be ‘caught’ rather than ‘taught’ because supernatural things are not learned through intellectual understanding but rather received through spiritual sensitivity. Many times, The Holy Spirit is trying to get our attention, but we miss it, because we try to discern it with our natural minds. The Bible says that God speaks in so many different ways including dreams and visions of the night when we’re in a deep sleep. I believe that’s when our spirits are most receptive because when we are asleep. we are not thinking analytically.
He wants to speak to you and show you things that will amaze you. He wants to take you to new heights and unveil new paths if you will simply yield to Him and allow the Holy Spirit to rise within you today. I want to share a couple of dreams that I previously shared some time ago. I pray that these dreams/visions will resonate with you and stir your spirit to ignite a fresh encounter with God.
Several years ago, I had the privilege of studying “Dreams and Visions” and “The Art of Hearing God” by John Paul Jackson. Through these teachings I learned that God still speaks to us today, just as He did in biblical times. During that season I experienced extraordinary dreams as well as visions from the Lord almost every night. The Holy Spirit wants to speak to us on such a larger scale in this season. He wants to teach us of the many ways that He speaks and communicates with His people.
One night in December of 2000 I had a profound dream that still resonates with me today. In the dream I was looking out at a bunch of pure white poodles with big brown eyes. I knew that they were females, because they had pink bows on their heads. As I looked closely into the eyes of one of them, it began to speak in a gentle, feminine voice saying: “Now is the time that you were called to the gospel to do what you were created to do”. When I woke up I had an overwhelming presence of God, and I recognized that the voice was the voice of Kathryn Kuhlman, the renowned evangelist.”
Two days after this dream I was in a pet shop with a friend. They had a beautiful white puppy for sale. When I looked at this puppy it looked into my eyes and I saw the same big brown eyes as the white poodle that was in my dream. It was amazing how this dog just stared into my eyes. This may sound foolish to some of you, because our natural minds cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God because spiritual things must be spiritually discerned. Jesus was not only validating my dream, but it was a confirmation that He was bringing me into a new chapter in my journey with Him.
Jesus reveals His mysteries through dreams. Someone told me that the white poodles represented angels. I had another dream the same week. In this dream I was looking into a bedspread that I owned many years ago. It was brown with a floral design. As I looked closely, I saw the face of a woman, and she began speaking to me. She quoted from the book of Proverbs 3:13-16 saying:
“Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.”
There was a parallel in these two dreams. I received a revelation that pursuing wisdom was the key to unlocking the door to my destiny. Wisdom brings long life in one hand, and riches and honor in the other. Some of you are saying that you had dreams in the past and knew The Lord’s voice, but you no longer recognize His voice. It seems as if the river of revelation has dried up. If you want to go back to the relationship that you had with Jesus in the past, you have to find where you strayed and return to the path.
In August 2014 Bonnie Jones (the wife of the late prophet Bob Jones) had a dream about Kathryn Kuhlman. In the dream Kathryn was pointing her finger and prophesying that "All those born on October 16th have a special anointing, and there's a special anointing being released and it's very powerful. God is awesome and He will always confirm His word. He also wants to speak to you.
If you’ve become disconnected or insensitive to the Holy Spirits leading, allow Him to search your heart. Having this personal relationship with Jesus will help you to recognize His voice more clearly. It’s like plugging into a power source. When you are connected to Jesus, His power could flow freely. When you are disconnected from him, your anointing will diminish. To regain that connection, you need to spend time with Him. And those of you who do, will experience the fullness of His presence and power in your lives, families and ministries.
“For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.” Job 33:14-18.
“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her.” Proverbs 3:13-18.
“He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” Daniel 2:22.
