Portals of Ireland

by Mike DeLorenzo

(12 x 171/3)

This painting depicts five different scenes of Ireland. When first praying about the painting, I felt for several months that there were to be three archways of different places in Ireland.

XXVI. The first scene on the left right is the "Rock of Cashel ". The Castle is 61 meters high. Cashel has long been a place of importance. St Patrick arrive in about 432 AD and converted King Aengus, who became the first Christian Ruler. ST Patrick is alleged to have used a shamrock leaf to illustrate the Trinity, during Aengus’s baptism.

A. I feel it is significant that this is where the first ruler got saved. Patrick had a kingly anointing to reach the leaders of his day. This is also an ancient ruin, and when I was in Northern Ireland waiting upon the lord in 94, at the Christian Renewal Center when the Lord began to speak to me about the ancient pathways, and ancient ruins.

B. Isaiah 58:12 (New King James Version)

1. 12 Those from among you
Shall build the old waste places;
You shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,
The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

2. Jeremiah 6:16 (New King James Version)
16 Thus says the LORD:
" Stand in the ways and see,
And ask for the old paths, where the good way is,
And walk in it;
Then you will find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
Lord once again let the rulers of Ireland come to know the Lord, place an open heaven over your people once again. The archways above the castle speaks of an open heaven, God wants his people to seek the Lord Jesus with all their heart and soul. The different colors of each archway display possible the glory of the Lord. We go from glory to glory, from grace to grace, from faith to faith and from Strength to strength the Bible says.

XXVII. The Blarney Castle

Blarney Castle is a medieval stronghold in Blarney, near Cork, Ireland and the River Martin. The castle originally dates from before AD 1200. It was destroyed in 1446, but subsequently rebuilt by Cormack McCarthy, the King of Munster. It is currently a partial ruin with some accessible rooms and the battlements. At the top of the castle lies the Stone of Eloquence, better known as the Blarney Stone. Tourists visiting Blarney Castle may hang upside-down over a sheer drop to kiss the stone, which is said to give the gift of eloquence. Photographs are taken of the "magic moment". There are many legends as to the origin of the stone, but some say that it was the Lia Fáil —a magical stone upon which Irish kings were crowned.

This Castle has personal importance to me. My friend Glow Bonnette who has gone on to be with the Lord took a team of intercessors to the castle back in the 90’s as they went to the top of the castle they began to prayer and the power of God came down. They prayed and prophesied over several tourists, many of them wanted prayer. One of the men who would hold the legs of the tourist as they bent over to kiss the blarney stone was drunk at the time and Glow had a special burden for him. She prayed for him for 8 years every day that God would to a miracle in his life. As we went to find him some 8 years later we found out that he had gotten fired from the job for personal reasons. We tried to find out where he lived, after asking several different folks we found an address, as we went to the house a lady answered the door we ask is John here? She looked surprised, like who are you. After Glow began to tell how she had prayed for him all those year the lady and daughter began to weep at the door, she invited us inside, and there was John. We found out after being let go of his Job that he tried to commit suicide with poison and almost died. He was living on the streets I believe as an alcoholic. During his recover he found the Jesus as his savior. He got a new job and a car. When we met him at his home was just after the Lord restored him to his family. The moral of the story is when we are full of Blarney; God can take the life and make it his own.

This is why you see and open heaven over this place, because of the presence of God is where ever you are, because Christ the hope of Glory lives inside of His Children.

Jacob’s Vow at Bethel

10 Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. 11 So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. 12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. 13 And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: "I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.

A. In this painting you see a ladder going into the heavens, there are 24 stars symbolic of the 24 elders before the throne of God, and the larger star being the Lord Jesus, the Bright and Morning Star. My heart is that the heaven will be open to us as we wait upon the Lord.

XXVIII. St Patrick’s Cathedral

A. This Cathedral is in the city of Armagh, the place where St Patrick built his Cathedral in AD 445. This particular cathedral dates from the middle of the 19th century.

B. This picture shows and open heaven between the pillars, we need to come out of religion, and have a relationship with Jesus. There are many beautiful churches in the world, but some just become institutions, and many of the great cathedrals and churches of Europe have gone empty. God is calling us to come out of the world, and come up into His presence.

C. Revelation 4

(1) The Throne Room of Heaven

1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”

2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.

3 And He who sat there was [a] like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.

4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns [b] of gold on their heads.

5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. [c] Seven lamps of

D. God in this last day has an open heaven for us to come up into. We will all experience God differently in our lives, but bottom line, the Lord is asking us all to come up higher in Him.
