Flight Plan by Susan Bolden

I dreamed I was in the cockpit with what felt like a friend though I couldn't see the face. The feeling of confusion became heavy in the atmosphere. "Look at your instruments on the control panel. Do not let what you see in this realm influence you" I said firmly. I saw in the distance a hazy bow (like an invisible rainbow) and I knew that was the entry point she was to navigate to in order for her to get where she needed to be. I love the many spiritual reflections between realms. It's one of the many ways He reveals what is happening in the spirit realm.

I love the many spiritual reflections between realms. It's one of the many ways He reveals what is happening in the spirit realm.

While gleaning information about flying planes, from this dream I learned that pilots can experience this thing called spatial disorientation. Spatial disorientation is the inability of person to determine his true body position, motion, and altitude relative to the earth or his surroundings. In other words, because of certain things happening in the immediate atmosphere, the pilot doesn't know where he is positionally. (We are seated in heavenly places Ephesians 2:6) Not only ascertaining truth by sight becomes difficult but their equilibrium becomes affected and makes it feel all too real. The effects of which can be seeing a false horizon.

See with the eyes of your spirit. Our trust should be in Holy Spirit and His revelation. Do not fall short of purpose in your life. Do not settle for emotional fulfillment or recognition. It is a ruse, an illusion. It will not satisfy you. Nothing wrong with an attaboy but He is our reward.

Ground lights and star lights can be confused for one another.

Take special care of what you're focusing on. Keep your gaze fixed on our Father. He IS the Father of Lights! We worship Him and only Him, Creator of all. In whom all things are held together! (Colossians 1:17) Don't set your sight on the effects of Him, works, giftings, all the feels. Let union with Him be your goal. Ask Holy Spirit to help you keep a pure heart and be quick to ask yourself, what's really my motive in said situation? Let Him reveal the Truth by His Spirit which resides in you and is united with you (1 Corinthians 6:17).

These were tips for pilots (I've included mine in bold).

Establish sensible personal minimums and resist the temptation and pressures to exceed them.

Do not compare yourself to anyone. Embrace who He created you to be. Be authentic, there's way too many powerless duplicates. They weren't created like that: Life is not a competition, it's a wonderful adventurous journey with Him. No need in striving when you can trust that heavy fruit will hang from your tree if you choose the Tree of Life Himself.

Be familiar with the aircraft you're flying. Make sure you're familiar with the instrument panel, the flight-handling characteristics, and the aircraft's speed. This becomes more critical at night, when visibility inside the cockpit as well as outside is reduced.

No one is immune. All pilots are susceptible to spatial disorientation.

The Word of God is life! Jesus is the Word indeed! Study the Word so you know Him and His ways. You'll be able to discern things as you learn His principles. The Word teaches us His character, His heart. Remember, all pilots are susceptible. Paul said even the very elect can be deceived (Matt 24:24). When we think we can't, well, hello pride I see you! The Word of God is your foundation. It will call you back to center if your ever feeling disoriented. If everything in your life is heaviness and warfare, I want to remind you to check your altitude. Come up Higher! Live from your seated position in Christ Jesus.

As we ascend the heights we have only to trust Him. We're not to look at circumstances for truth. We trust He who is Truth and these circumstances change.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
