Soaking in the Glory by John Belt

By John Belt
Did you know that God wants to get you saturated in His Presence? He wants us all to, like a sponge, soak up the goodness of His Presence. It is amazing how much water a small sponge can actually hold. It just absorbs that water so well. If you've ever noticed - the beginning part of soaking a sponge with water takes longer. When the sponge is dry the water initially bounces off. But once it "breaks through" the sponge begins to absorb more and more!

Did you know that God wants to get you saturated in His Presence? He wants us all to, like a sponge, soak up the goodness of His Presence. When the sponge is dry the water initially bounces off. But once it "breaks through" the sponge begins to absorb more and more!

This is a great picture of how it is with us as well. If you've ever felt dry and thirsty, both spiritually and in your body, sometimes it takes that breakthrough of waters when it's been a while. Then it becomes easier the more you absorb.

Today, set your heart to get under the spout where the glory comes out and soak in the Presence of God!?

Satisfied with the Fatness

Psalms 36:8-9? “They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” (KJV)

This verse serves as a great foundation for soaking in the glory of God. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing God in the intimacy that comes with His Presence. God desires one on one interaction with us. Here we come to know Him for ourselves, rather than living off someone else’s experience. God has a platter to serve up to each of us. He has a menu catered to our specific make-up in the way He designed each of us. He knows what we need. He understands what will be best for us because He sees that details of our lives. He knows where we have been, where we are currently and where He wants to take us in our lives.

God has a perfect plan for each of us. When we discover the place of intimacy with God we experience His nature, His love and how much He wants to bless us with Who He is. John, the beloved, tells us that “God is love.” What an amazing statement. When we understand that what we see on the surface is just the beginning, then we can conclude “if God is love” then just how deep does His love go? I can tell you that His love goes very deep, is very tangible coming in the form of His Presence in Your life.

The Highest Price Paid

Jesus paid the highest price that we may enter into the Holiest of All by His blood. There is a simultaneous exchange that takes place as we enter into His Presence. His Presence inhabits us when we come into His Presence. As we approach Him with hearts of worship and thanksgiving, He also comes to inhabit us in a tangible way through His Spirit. I repeat tangible because God wants to be tangible to us. He wants to be more real to us than anything of this world. Just as you would hold someone’s hand, God wants you to experience His Presence even more tangibly. This is normal life for those who abide in Christ.

Psalms 36:8-9 “They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.” (AMP)

As we look at this verse again in the Amplified Bible, we see there is nothing mild about the expression relayed to us here.

God Makes Us Glad!

Isaiah 12:3 “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”

Picture yourself in a tropical paradise of God’s glory. If you can see yourself in the very best scenario on earth, then multiply that times a million, you might be getting close to the picture of God’s wonderful world of glory. Don’t you want the will of God for your life? God’s goodness is part of that will. Have some laughter in your life. Find the joy and peace that He provides for us. That is the revealed will of God for our lives. He is not here to make us sad. He is here to make us glad. God is good. Think about what you really relish and love to do or enjoy. God’s Presence is much more enjoyable! He wants us to relish His Presence with overflowing joy.?
