Too Much Honey? by Pam Clark

Proverbs 25:16 NLT - "Do you like honey? Don't eat too much, or it will make you sick!" A wise person understands that too much favor can be hazardous! People want riches and favor and powers, but they can also sometimes miss the Lord who gives it. Just like the children of Israel, we can be tested on this. I speak to myself as well as to others! Jealousy can be cruel, whether it is righteous or unrighteous. There were gold and special fabrics and nice things in the first Tabernacle. The Glory of God was in there.

Proverbs 25:16 NLT - "Do you like honey? Don't eat too much, or it will make you sick!"

A wise person understands that too much favor can be hazardous!

But the covering was badger skin. Just plain brown animal skin that made it look like the portable tent it was. But it was going somewhere!

Riches were inside. They were not settled enough to build a building yet. They were not in the right place yet! They had to pass through different countries and kingdoms and even find the leadership that they needed to settle down and establish themselves as a nation, and then as we know even still today, the warfare was going to be intense.

People clamor for favor and riches and power. Most all of the ads we see cater to that in one form or another. But what happened to "Godliness with contentment is great gain." (1 Timothy 6:6)? There is something very special about having that settled trusted peace. It's something that many others don't have, including the devil!

Spiritual Nature

Life was meant to be a progression. Isn't there the saying that a falling or rolling rock gathers no moss? Sometimes we need to settle and sometimes we need to roll!

Our ministry gift will surround us. It is part of the design of our Spiritual nature. But if it is over concentrated and not used, it not only becomes out of balance but sets itself up to become common and taken for granted and not used in the ways it was intended! Too much honey will make one throw it up!

People who allow this to happen will become sullen and bitter and even reject the thing that was meant to give them life. Don't clamor for favor. Stay on that journey with God. When He gets finished with all the blessings He wants to give, it will be very meaningful. Already it is not that bad. I mean, things can get worse!

When we go to school, we take many different subjects. Two things happen. Not only do we get a well-rounded education but we find the things we are good at and we can develop that interest into a career or activity that brings a lot of reward. We can help others in need, by being skilled and productive. Don't sell yourself short!

We do lean on specialists, but a specialist that cannot relate to natural living can be a weird person and out of balance. Anything out of order and the enemy will work on it for division. God does not want idol worship; He wants a blessed well-rounded Body that can ride the high places of the earth with varied abilities and have that speak to others and their surroundings with His blessing upon it.

Honey is good, but not too much!
