Wrestling with God by Paulette Reed

By Paulette Reed
Some of you feel like you've been wrestling with God so long now that you feel like you just can't do it any longer. Your hip hurts, your heart hurts, and it's been a long, long night. Much like Jacob, you are striving and wrestling with God, not wanting to let go until He blesses you. But you're tired and you're weary; you don't know if you can hold on another moment. But rest assured that you will prevail: "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob [deceiver], but Israel [strives with God], for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed" (Genesis 32:18 AMP).

Lean on Me, I'll Lead You to Victory

The Lord says to you, "Do not give up; never tire of doing what's right. Although wrestling can be painful at times, I know that you will not let go until I bless you. This pleases Me. And although you might feel weak in body, you are now stronger in faith. For it's in our wrestling where you know that I am right there with you. It's in your battles where you realize I lead you into victory and your prayers will be answered. For although your injuries may seem debilitating, when you are weak, then I am strong. Your wrestling has taught you to lean on Me and not on yourself.

"Blessings come through wrestling; I am about to bless you! You have prevailed, and what looked like failure is truly triumph indeed. For I am pleased with your tenacious spirit, and I will restore! I am about to show you your true identity in Me as I did with Jacob." Just as Jacob held on and prevailed when wresting with God, so let the Lord impart fresh strength to you as you wrestle with Him until you receive the breakthrough. "
