Tapping Into the Mind of Christ! by Todd Bentley

By Todd Bentley
We have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16) what and where is the mind of Christ our what does it mean to have your EYES open! An interesting verse about hearing God is found in (Psalm 16:7). The word for mind here also describes heart, and the inmost being. They are used interchangeably in three different bible translations: "I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; indeed, my mind instructs me in the night" (NAS). "I will bless the LORD Who has given me counsel; yes my heart instructs me in the night seasons" (Amplified Bible). In the Complete Jewish Bible, the Hebrew translates mind and heart as inmost being: "I bless ADONAI, my counselor; at night my inmost being instructs me." The promise is that even as you sleep there will be revelation.

How many of you would like to have access to that realm, with your mind, heart and inmost being operating? After all, we are instructed to set our mind and our affections on things above, not on things on earth (Col. 3:2 NKJV; KJV).

You see, only when our affections, our emotions, our mind, and our thoughts are set on things above can the peace of God truly come; and it's a guard. Remember last week I said that we need to let the peace of God rule; it guards our hearts and minds. Then the door of the spirit realm opens up and we begin to live in the supernatural realm because there is a direct connection between peace, the mind, and having our hearts set on entering into the realm of the Spirit. Set your affections on things above (Col. 3:2).

Yet also let's not forget that the heart or the inner person needs to be clean - "God create in me a clean heart, let my thought realm and my affection emotion realm come under Your control. I want to have pure thoughts and pure desires."

A True Supernatural Lifestyle Requires Purity

Our purity of heart will always eventually come to a crucial testing point. We may want the eyes of our understanding opened, but there is a price to pay in the area of purity if we want to live a holy, true supernatural lifestyle.

Having said that, sometimes after God tests the quality of the purity in our hearts, depending on what He finds, He will allow a blindness to come over the prophets and seers, which manifests like a covering or a hood that comes over their heads. "For the LORD has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely, the seers" (Is. 29:10). Could it be that one of the reasons for this action is because of some kind of sin? (See Isaiah 29:13-15)

I saw one time that witchcraft, mind control, and demonic assignments come against the mind of Christ in the church so that we can't receive what God has for us. The fact is sin opens the door for the enemy; but we can close that door.

At times I've seen in the spirit (in our meetings) that some of the people there actually have a hood over their head that acts like a cover, just as the above scripture verse explains. Perhaps that's you, and your prophetic seer gifting is not functioning. Therefore, before closing this teaching series we'll have a time of prayer and repentance to deal with this because I want you to receive and to see everything that God has for you.
