Hitting the Target by Kathi Pelton

By Kathi Pelton
I woke up this morning and the first email I opened was from the US department store, Target. They were introducing their new brands: "Project 62" and "A New Day." Immediately I knew that they hit the target of God themes for this season! A rush of hope hit my spirit as if God had just announced His purposes for this new day and time. Though the enemy makes announcements of doom, hate and darkness, our God makes announcements of hope, light and peace!

I woke up this morning and the first email I opened was from the US department store, Target. They were introducing their new brands: "Project 62" and "A New Day."

Immediately I knew that they hit the target of God themes for this season! A rush of hope hit my spirit as if God had just announced His purposes for this new day and time. Though the enemy makes announcements of doom, hate and darkness, our God makes announcements of hope, light and peace!

Project 62 is Isaiah 62

"...The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the LORD will name. You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the LORD, And a royal diadem In the hand of your God. You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; For the LORD delights in you, And your land shall be married." Isaiah 62:2-4

A New Day is Luke 1:78-80

"A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful. He will give light to those who live in the dark and in death's shadow. He will guide us into the way of peace." Luke 1:78-80

God's people do not interpret times and seasons by the natural but by the Spirit. And yet, the natural things reveal the invisible.

"For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God." Romans 1:20

I believe that many in this new day will have the blindness that has come over their natural and spiritual eyes opened to see God for who He truly is. He will reveal light to those in darkness and suddenly they will see that Him in His divine light and truth.

The Good Shepherd

As darkness comes more apparent so does the Light. As the shadow of death looms over nations, people will suddenly see God as the Good Shepherd who will lead them into light and life.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever." Psalms 23:2-6

This is a time of salvation and a time to sing out salvation's song. This is a time that God's people will hit the target and see the longing of God's heart for those trapped in darkness set free. This is a time of the Church truly being that city of light on a hill and a light in the darkness.

Matthew 5:14-16 says, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

The light that has been kept under the roof of church buildings will now be revealed and become a lamp stand on darkened streets and in darkened cities. It will light the way for many to come into the family of God.

My spirit is literally alive with this announcement! Can you feel it? Can you see it? The blind will see!
